It’s cooling off time for the new tapir mother and the newborn baby as they are having a splash in the pond.
The baby is roughly 2 weeks old and is only on show to the public for a few hours a day to get it used to its surrounding.

Gorilla Mother And Her Baby Backpack

The endangered Western lowland gorilla mum Ozala from the Twycross Zoo, in Atherstone, England slings her baby on her back. When the rubber tube from the climbing frame gets caught up, she stops the baby from falling and repositions the baby gorilla back on her back.
The infant was born last year on the 24th September 2016 to a proud mum Ozala ( 22 years old ) and dad Dad is called Oumbi ( 24 years old).

As you can see in the video the adorable critically endangered northern white cheeked gibbon baby is a boy. So at least we don’t need to wait 7/8 years 🙂
All babies are born with a cream colour, and will change to black after about one to two years! When they reach sexual maturity, between between 7-8 years, males remain black and females change back to their cream colour!

Lope The Gorilla Drags Baby Brother Across The Grass

Lope got his hands on his baby brother, unfortunately not in a gentle way, but it looks worse than it really was! The Mother was there straight away to intervene and Lope let go at that point.
Lopes sibling was just fine, playing again afterwards and even getting close to Lope again with no hard feelings towards his brother. It is gorillas after all, a bit of roughness is to be expected. So don’t be too hard on Lope! 🙂
